Business Protection

Protection of business is one of the key directions of the Human Rights Defender's activities, the main objective of which is to improve the business environment, to protect the interests of small and medium-sized businesses, and increase the effectiveness of tax and customs policies. This can also have a stimulating effect on business environment development and on the establishment of partnerships between business entities and the state, encouraging free economic competition, improving investment climate, as well as protecting consumers' rights.

In order to protect the rights of businessmen, the Defender addresses applications to the Constitutional Court, amicus briefs on the applications connected with the businessmen are to the Constitutional Court, draft legislative acts are being developed, etc.

The Defender may be adressed by persons who have suffered from tax or customs administration, unequal approach by state authorities, hindered equal business competition, administrative acts issued by state bodies, unnecessary delays of customs and tax authorities, etc.

In the public services area, the Defender considers complaints that are related to the public services provided to our country's population, e.g., gas, water electricity supply and service.

In the public services sector, the Defender considers complaints that are of mass nature or are of public significance or are related to the necessity to protect the interests of those who cannot exercise their legal remedies to protect their rights and freedoms independently. Individual complaints addressed to the Defender in this field may be delegated to the relevant body for discussion upon the approval of the person who submitted them.
